Participants: 12 adults maximum. April 15-27, 2024 Where: Tokyo + Yamanashi + Kyoto and Nara
For 13 days, a limited group of 12 people will take part in a deep immersion in Shinto. Those selected will be initiated into rituals and the main arts that have arisen from this philosophy. They will learn the primordial concepts and fundamental practices of what is considered the Japanese way of being.
On this journey, which is a mixture of tourism, knowledge and reflection, the consultants will work to reconnect with each participant’s individual life mission. Or what is called the path to the connection with oneself, the “inner discovery” (Basho).
In each city, the group will visit two to four shrines and there will be workshops on arts and crafts that originated in Shinto. You will experience the height of the country’s most beautiful season: spring. And you’ll eat rich and varied meals, prepared according to the date, the visit and the purpose of that day’s program.
Most of the accommodation will be in temples and ryokans. Transportation is included in the program and will be by train and bus. Luggage should be light and easy to carry.
Come with an open mind, bring your notebook with questions and reflections and be ready to get to know Japan like few foreigners have had the privilege of doing.
This is not a “spiritual retreat”, nor a “VIP” tourist itinerary, but a project that selects people who are in a position to be initiated into an ancient philosophy.
The principles that will be worked on: Ma 間 Ku 空 Wa 和 and Wabi-Sabi
