{"id":4306,"date":"2022-09-25T18:06:33","date_gmt":"2022-09-25T18:06:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/kaminomichi.com\/candles-why-south-korea\/"},"modified":"2024-05-27T12:52:20","modified_gmt":"2024-05-27T12:52:20","slug":"candles-why-south-korea","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kaminomichi.com\/en\/2022\/09\/25\/candles-why-south-korea\/","title":{"rendered":"Candles &#8211; why South Korea?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Kimchi is a well-seasoned side that comes along with Korean meals.<\/p>\n<p>Onggi\u00a0(<a style=\"color: #ffffff;\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Korean_language\">Korean<\/a>:\u00a0\uc639\uae30, \u7515\u5668) is\u00a0<a style=\"color: #ffffff;\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Korea\">Korean<\/a>\u00a0<a style=\"color: #ffffff;\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Earthenware\">earthenware<\/a>\u00a0extensively used as\u00a0<a style=\"color: #ffffff;\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Tableware\">tableware<\/a>\u00a0and storage containers in\u00a0<a style=\"color: #ffffff;\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Korea\">Korea<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>It includes both\u00a0<a style=\"color: #ffffff;\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Ceramic_glaze\">unglazed<\/a> earthenware, fired near 600 to 700<a style=\"color: #ffffff;\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/%C2%B0C\">\u00b0C<\/a>, and\u00a0<a style=\"color: #ffffff;\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Pottery\">pottery<\/a>\u00a0with a dark brown\u00a0<a style=\"color: #ffffff;\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Ceramic_glaze\">glaze<\/a>\u00a0fired at over 1100\u00a0\u00b0C.<\/p>\n<p>The origin of onggi dates to around 4000 to 5000 BC.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The types of earthenware include patternless,\u00a0<a style=\"color: #ffffff;\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Mumun_pottery_period\">mumun<\/a>, and a red and black variety.<\/p>\n<p>The patternless earthenware is made with lumps of\u00a0<a style=\"color: #ffffff;\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Clay\">clay<\/a>\u00a0and fine sand. The predecessor of\u00a0<a style=\"color: #ffffff;\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Goryeo\">Goryeo<\/a>\u00a0<a style=\"color: #ffffff;\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Celadon\">celadon<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a style=\"color: #ffffff;\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Joseon_white_porcelain\">Joseon white porcelain<\/a>, the black\/red earthenware excludes any sand in its creation process. The earthenware\u2019s color is determined by both the\u00a0<a style=\"color: #ffffff;\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Iron\">iron<\/a>\u00a0content of the clay and the method used to fire it.<\/p>\n<p>Earth, Fire \u2013 that\u2019s why we chose this pot and asked that a fragrance be created also in South Korea especially for this collection.
